Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each room occupies its own separate space with natural light and doors for privacy. Rooms are "studio quality" sound-proofed against outside noise.

  • You enter the Conference Centre though the main church door at the foot the tower. The Conference Centre is a wholly owned limited company of St Matthew’s Westminster (a registered charity: 1132355). The church is connected to the Conference Centre and, except during services, you are welcome to visit.

  • In addition to the rooms you book, there are some communal spaces, for example, the secret courtyard, that you are welcome to use at no additional cost, subject to availability and non-exclusive use. Other parts of the house and church are not available without the prior agreement of the Centre Manager & there may be an additional charge.

  • The Centre Manager will work with you to ensure any corporate “dressing” of the venue entrance and internal hired space for your event will be accommodated. Please discuss with the centre when booking your event.

  • Rooms can be laid out according to your needs including boardroom, U-shaped, cabaret, seminar, workshop, classroom. Please discuss with the Centre Manager when booking, he will be happy, if required, to provide his knowledge and experience in how best to set up your space.

  • We can provide a TV/DVD player and table-top digital projector. We do not provide laptops or computers. Projection is onto a wall treated with professional quality projection paint.

  • Please see Venue page for current rates. Quoted rates exclude VAT but include water, wi-fi, flipcharts, pens and pads.

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the date of hire incur a charge equivalent to 50% of the standard booking fee. Cancellations made within 14 days of the date of hire incur a charge equivalent to 100% of the standard booking fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice incur a charge equivalent to 100% of the standard booking rate plus all catering costs and any additional items.

  • Normal hours of use are between 9am and 5pm although we are happy to allow access outside these hours with prior arrangement.

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer delegate day rates.

  • Parking is restricted. There are a few meters outside the centre (maximum 4 hour stay) and private car parks in Horseferry Road and Great College Street.

  • St James's Park (District & Circle), Victoria (Victoria Line and Overground) and Westminster (Jubilee Line).

  • It is usually easy to pick up a cab from outside the Centre.

  • St Matthew's Conference Centre is VAT registered and VAT will be added to all invoices. All quoted prices on this site are exclusive of VAT.

  • Please contact us if you would like to open a client account.

    Clients with accounts are asked to settle invoices within 30 days by Faster Pay or Credit/Debit Card.

    If you do not have a client account, a deposit equivalent to 25% of the total charges (or £100 if greater) is required at the time of booking and the balance must be paid in full at least 7 days before the date of hire.

  • All profits are used for the work of the church in the local community.
